We came together for the third Chat Café and it was wonderful to see people of different faith and cultural backgrounds sitting together, full of conversation and laughter while enjoying a delicious home cooked South Indian lunch. It was a great way to welcome new international students to the city as some had arrived in the UK and Lincoln earlier this month – they appreciated being able to meet people from the local community. TCfR works with the Multifaith Chaplaincy (and is partly funded by the University of Lincoln) to help bring students and the members of the local Westend community together. It is a great opportunity to learn from each other, make new friends and connect. Children of the World set up some children’s activities and this month there was Lego, sensory play and baby toys. These were very popular with the children especially the sensory play and the ten month baby loved crawling through the dried pulses and cereals. TCfR was the Autumn Community Champion for Lincolnshire Coop and it is with thanks to this funding that we are able to keep offering the monthly Chat Café. Chat Café runs most months on the second or third Saturday at St Faith’s Hall, West Parade. Looking forward to seeing you there in March.
