  • Gardening is incredibly beneficial for your wellbeing; both physical and mental. It can help reduce stress, improve mood and lead to a reduction in symptoms of anxiety and depression.
  • Gardening and being in a garden is relaxing
  • Gardening – effort put in produces real results so a real sense of achievement which boosts confidence and self esteem
  • Having a green space in the middle of a concrete campus or city breaks up the concrete, adds colour and helps people feel relaxed and less stressed
Peace garden at the University
A lovely green space of calm on the University of Lincoln campus. Somewhere to sit and reflect on life, pray or mediate and take time out from your busy and often stressful life. A feast for the senses smell the beautifully scented herbs, listen to the water trickle in the pond or the wind chime in the wind, feast your eyes on the greenery and colourful flowers and feel the different textured grasses and plants.
