We’re delighted to share that The Centre for Reconciliation (TCfR) and Subash Chellaiah have been shortlisted for the Mitzvah Day 2024 Awards.
In November 2024, TCfR hosted a joint Mitzvah Day and Seva Day event as part of our Winter Appeal in support of the Lincoln Hygiene Bank. People from diverse faith communities came together to donate, sort, and organise essential hygiene items. Thanks to their generosity, we collected around 2,000 items, significantly boosting supplies for our hygiene sessions across the city.
TCfR has been shortlisted for the All Year Round Award in recognition of our ongoing work uniting people of different faiths through the Lincoln Hygiene Bank initiative. In 2024, this effort helped support approximately 2,800 individuals in need of hygiene assistance.
This vital work would not be possible without the continued support of churches, both local mosques, the Hindu and Jewish communities, and many others. Their donations and volunteer time allow us to operate six locations in Lincoln, hosting 18–20 hygiene sessions each month.
We’re also proud to announce that Subash Chellaiah has been nominated for an Individual Award for his leadership in fostering interfaith collaboration—especially through the Lincoln Hygiene Bank and the coordination of the Winter Appeal.
Subash and Steve will represent TCfR at the Mitzvah Day Awards ceremony later this month in London.
