On Saturday, 8th February 2025, we hosted a vibrant spring-themed Chat Café at Holy Cross Church Hall. The event featured beautiful circle dances performed by Gillian Fiddes and her friends in celebration of International Women’s Day.
An international student from northern India joined in the dancing and thoroughly enjoyed learning the new steps, adding to the spirit of inclusion and connection that defines Chat Café.
Guests gathered to share conversation, laughter, and warm hospitality over bowls of homemade pea, lentil, and mixed vegetable soup. A selection of delicious homemade cakes accompanied tea and coffee, with the white chocolate, raspberry, and mascarpone cake proving a clear favourite.
We also introduced our first raffle—which was a big hit—and it will now be a regular feature at future cafés. A small stall offered books, hand-embroidered items, pens, badges, and Fairtrade products for sale, further adding to the welcoming community atmosphere.
