At its AGM and Annual Conference, the Lincolnshire Faith Council (LFC) proudly launched the Golden Rules poster—culminating a year-long collaboration with local faith communities.

LFC works to promote trust, understanding, and cooperation across faith traditions in Lincolnshire. Our approach encourages open dialogue about both differences and shared values, supporting the vision of living well together in a diverse society.

Throughout history, spiritual and philosophical traditions have emerged in response to timeless questions—“Why am I here?”, “Where did I come from?”, “Where am I going?”—reflected locally by the inscriptions on Lincoln’s Brayford Bridge: Where have you been? and Where are you going?.

At the heart of many religious and ethical traditions lies a simple but powerful idea: treat others as you would wish to be treated. This principle—known as the Golden Rule—is found across faiths and philosophies, from Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Buddhism, to Humanism and ancient teachings such as Confucianism and Greek philosophy.

Inspired by this shared ethic, the LFC’s Golden Rules poster brings together teachings from a wide range of faith communities, highlighting the common values of compassion, justice, and respect that unite us.

The poster is a reminder that while our beliefs may differ, our commitment to kindness and peace remains a powerful point of connection.
