Lighting the Way for a Shared Future
8–15 November 2026
Join us for a week of events across Lincoln bringing together people of different faiths, beliefs and communities through friendship, learning, service, dialogue and peacebuilding.
Everyone is welcome. Most Inter Faith Week activities are free to attend. Woven Together is a ticketed fundraising event.
Sunday 8 November
The Light We Share
Opening Lantern-Making Celebration
Time: 2:00–4:00 pm
Venue: Lincoln Unitarian Chapel
A welcoming opening celebration centred on light as a shared symbol of hope, peace and unity. Participants will make lanterns and bring them together to create a Lantern Garden, opening Inter Faith Week and introducing the theme “Lighting the Way for a Shared Future.”
Monday 9 November
Lincoln Hygiene Bank, Coffee & Chat & Free NHS Blood Pressure Checks
Serving Different Faiths and Cultures
Time: 10:00 am–12:00 pm
Venue: TCfR Interfaith Centre, Central Methodist Church
Join us for our Lincoln Hygiene Bank and Coffee & Chat, alongside free NHS blood pressure checks. Find out more about how hygiene services can respectfully meet the needs of different faiths and cultures. Coffee and tea will be served, providing a welcoming space for informal conversation and connection. You can also learn more about the Hygiene Bank, volunteering opportunities and how to get involved.

Stories That Change Us
A Human Library
Time: 10:00 am–3:00 pm
Venue: St Peter at Gowts School
People from different faiths, cultures and worldviews share their personal stories with young people. The Human Library will encourage listening, questions and conversations that challenge assumptions and help build understanding. There will also be an opportunity to involve the Young Ambassadors for Peace.
Wednesday 11 November
Remembering Together – Taste of Unity
Marking Remembrance Day and Mitzvah Day
Time: 4:00–6:00 pm
Venue: TCfR Interfaith Centre, Central Methodist Church
A special Taste of Unity bringing people together through food, friendship and acts of kindness. The gathering will recognise Remembrance Day, including a moment of silence, while connecting with the spirit of Mitzvah Day and the Jewish community.
Thursday 12 November
Interfaith Library – Official Launch
Time: 12:00–2:00 pm
Venue: TCfR Interfaith Centre, Central Methodist Church
The official launch of the Interfaith Library will create a shared resource for learning about different faiths, beliefs, cultures and worldviews, encouraging dialogue, understanding and education.
Friday 13 November
Woven Together
Sustainable Fashion Showcase & Cultural Celebration
Time: From 6:00 pm
Venue: TCfR Interfaith Centre, Central Methodist Church
Tickets: £15 /£9 concession
TCfR members receive 10% discount
Book Tickets for Woven Together
An interfaith celebration exploring clothing, culture, sustainability and the stories woven into what we wear. Includes a short film, fashion showcase, child-friendly embellishment workshop and clothing swap shop.
Donations and loans of clothing with a story are invited by 23 October.
Saturday 14 November
Lighting the Way: A Walk for Peace
Time: 10:00 am–12:00 pm
Route: Faizan-e-Madina Masjid & Islamic Centre (Carlton Centre) → Lincoln Cathedral → Jews’ Court → Quaker Meeting House → St Hugh’s Catholic Church → Salvation Army → Lincoln Unitarian Chapel → TCfR Interfaith Centre
An interfaith walk through Lincoln bringing together people of different faiths, beliefs and communities. Short welcomes and reflections for peace will be shared along the route, symbolically lighting the way towards a more peaceful and reconciled future.
Closing Celebration – Reconciliation Pledge & Refreshments
Time: 12:00–12:30 pm
Venue: TCfR Interfaith Centre, Central Methodist Church
Walk participants and the wider community will come together for a shared closing moment. Participants will be invited to make a Reconciliation Pledge: one friendship, one shared meal, one act of service, one environmental commitment or one new partnership.
Refreshments and fellowship will follow.
Next Generation – Youth Interfaith Takeover
Time: 12:30–3:30 pm
Venue: TCfR Interfaith Centre, Central Methodist Church
A youth-led afternoon bringing young people together to share their ideas, hopes and aspirations for a peaceful, inclusive and connected future.
Youth Speaking Competition – “Lighting the Way for a Shared Future”
Young people aged 11–16 years are invited to prepare and present either a 2–3 minute talk or a 2–3 minute spoken-word poetry piece inspired by the Inter Faith Week theme.
Participants are encouraged to creatively explore what the theme means to them and share their hopes and ideas for building greater understanding, friendship, peace and stronger communities.
Presentations will be assessed by a panel, and the winner will receive a £50 voucher.

Peter Hodgkinson Centre Multi-Faith Room
Inter Faith Week Initiative
Venue: Peter Hodgkinson Centre, Lincoln County Hospital
The Peter Hodgkinson Centre multi-faith room is proposed to take part in Inter Faith Week, with TCfR offering books and resources for staff and patients to access. Further activities or events may be developed with the EDI Group and Therapies Team.

Available throughout Inter Faith Week
The Centre for Reconciliation (TCfR) is exploring the development of a permanent, accessible and welcoming central hub in Lincoln.
As part of Inter Faith Week, we invite people of different faiths, beliefs and backgrounds, community members and partner organisations to share their views. Your feedback will help demonstrate local need, shape the facilities and activities of a future hub, understand how it might be used, and support future property and funding applications.
The survey takes approximately 8–12 minutes to complete.

Diwali Dhamaka 2026 – Festival of Lights Celebration
Organised by: Lincolnshire Indian Society (LIS)
Time: From 5:30 pm
Venue: EPIC Centre, Lincolnshire Showground
A vibrant community celebration of Diwali – the Festival of Lights, bringing families and communities together and celebrating the triumph of light over darkness.
Organised independently by Lincolnshire Indian Society (LIS) and taking place during the nationally observed Inter Faith Week.
