On Saturday 20th September, Rangjung Yeshe Gomde UK hosted a wonderful Heritage Day at Lindholme Hall, bringing together members of the community, including representatives from Lincoln Interfaith and TCfR.
A highlight of the day was the Kora Walk – a traditional Tibetan Buddhist practice of mindful walking around a sacred site. Originating in Tibet, Kora is seen as a way of deepening reflection, connecting with nature, and honouring the sacredness of place. Walking together around the beautiful landscape of Lindholme Hall, we experienced the sounds, smells, and sights of the natural world — from birds to pheasants — making the walk both spiritual and grounding.
The day also included a talk on the sacred heritage of Lindholme Island, and it's history going back to neolithic times. A very special moment was when a friend from Lincoln, who is a zen monk (Rev. Gandō Seiko), generously donated a Tibetan ceremonial horn (Dungchen) to the hall. Hearing its deep and resonant sound was profoundly moving, adding to the sense of shared spiritual heritage.
The event concluded with refreshments, where participants enjoyed tea, coffee, and cakes in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Kora Walk and Heritage Day as a whole offered a rich opportunity to reflect, share, and celebrate together across traditions, faiths, and the natural environment. Our thanks to Gomde UK for hosting such a meaningful and memorable day.
