St John’s College, Tirunelveli hosted an international academic programme, welcoming delegates from Lincoln, including Mr. Subash Chellaiah, Founder and CEO of the Centre for Reconciliation, and Mrs. Ruth Subash.

The event, organised by Ms. Arul Little Snita S, PhD research scholar at St John’s College, brought together research scholars with second- and third-year students for a day of exchange and dialogue.

The programme opened with a welcome from Dr. B. Beneson Thilagar Christadoss, Head and Associate Professor of the Department of English, who reflected on the historic ties between Tirunelveli and Lincoln. He emphasised the importance of building on this shared heritage to deepen cross-cultural connections.

In an interactive session, Mr. Subash engaged students in critical discussion, encouraging them to express their views confidently. He praised their preparation, energy, and leadership, noting the clarity with which they shared their ideas.

Student participation was central to the day’s success, as they took active roles in planning and leading much of the programme. Their enthusiasm highlighted both their academic commitment and their leadership potential.

Later, the Lincoln delegates met with College Principal, Dr. Isaac Suthakar, to discuss opportunities for collaboration. Discussions included the development of an exchange programme and a knowledge transfer initiative designed to strengthen academic ties and provide global exposure for students.

Both institutions expressed optimism about future partnerships and the potential for sustainable academic collaboration.
