Education in South Asia

For a while now TCfR working alongside the Education Foundation Canada (EFOC) we have supported education in Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu, South India – ‘sustaining education of the poor and needy’. We raise funds for this education through donation boxes that are in local shops in Lincoln and surrounding areas.

The money is split between Little Elephants School, Keeranur, Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka they have used the money to give out stationery items to over 50 students form poorer backgrounds. The area of Sri Lanka this took place was Batticaloa District and Rajapuram. They sent their sincere and heartfelt thanks and gratitude to TCfR who contributed to a successful project. The money that goes to Little Elephant school goes to support the running of the school and providing nursery, LKG and UKG education to children in a rural village. Little Elephant School is unique in that we take students from all backgrounds no matter what their faith or caste. Fees will be reduced or paid for those struggling financially. It is a school offering a good quality English medium education and giving those attending a great foundation for their future education.
