We’re excited to invite volunteers to join the  Taste of Unity Kitchen team! There are a range of roles available to suit different skills and interests:
 
🔪 Kitchen Helpers (Preparation & Cooking)
Assist with basic food preparation and cooking under supervision.
 
🥕 Chefs (Vegetarian Meals)
Lead the preparation of nutritious vegetarian meals during kitchen sessions.
 
😊 Front of House & Service Support
Welcome guests, assist with serving food, help create a warm and inclusive environment, and support general front-of-house tasks (not just clearing up!).
 
🪑 Set-up & Clear-up Support
Help set up tables and chairs and tidy up after each session.
 
🚚 Food Collection & Delivery
Collect donated food and transport it to the kitchen site. May also assist with delivering meals to those in need.
 
📣 Volunteer Co-ordinator
Support communication and coordination within the volunteer team.
 
📊 Bookkeeper (Admin Support)
Assist with basic financial tracking, volunteer hours, and expense recording.

Lincoln Hygiene Bank Coordinator

Scope of the role
Looking for a volunteer to coordinate the running of Lincoln Hygiene bank – a service where people in need will be able to come and get free hygiene products. A service that is much needed with the present cost of living crisis. Things are only going to get worse and harder for people. People are not just choosing between heating and eating they are choosing between heating, eating and keeping clean and in 2022 this is not right and keeping clean should be a luxury but a necessity.  
 
Role Description
The role will involve supporting hygiene sessions when needed and keeping in touch with the people running them to ensure they have the stock they need and if they need any other support. If needed you might need to help run a session if they are short of volunteers. When hygiene donation tubs are full going to collect the donations, taking to the storage and organising it there.

Fairtrade Shop and Library Volunteer

Scope of the role
We are looking for people of all ages and different backgrounds and languages to become general TCfR volunteers. Helping at different TCfR events and to support the work of the organisation.
 
Role Description
Your role will be to volunteer at our interfaith/multifaith library and Fairtrade shop. This is located at TCfR Interfaith Centre, Central Methodist Church on the High Street. With enough volunteers we will have a rota basis but would like to have the library and shop open 10am to 2pm Monday to Thursday. If you would like to volunteer you can let us know the days and times you are able to do. You will be responsible for ensuring the shop and library look presentable, helping customers find books they are looking for, dealing with borrowing books and returning them, shop sales, taking payments and keeping a  record of what is sold and what is borrowed.
 
Those attending might talk to you so participating in conversations and being understanding to their situation will be needed too.

Coffee and Chat Volunteer

We are looking for people of all ages and different backgrounds and languages to become general TCfR volunteers. Helping at different TCfR events and to support the work of the organisation.
 
Role Description
Your role will be to volunteer at Coffee and Chat on the second and fourth Mondays of the month at TCfR Interfaith Centre, Central Methodist Church on the High Street from 9.30 to 12.30. Coffee and Chat runs alongside the Lincoln Hygiene Bank session and you will help set up and clear up (includes moving tables and chairs) and making teas and coffees for those attending. Following the session helping to clear up and wash and put aways the cups and plates used. Those attending might talk to you so participating in conversations and being understanding to their situation will be needed too.
