Mormon Pioneer Day, 24 July, commemorates the entry of the Brigham Young & the 1st group of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on 25 July 1847. They settled here as they were forced from Nauvoo Illinois & other locations in Eastern USA.
